As OJCA forms and organizes as a community, we are learning about community-centric national events like Night Out Against Crime.
The Greater New Orleans Metropolitan celebrated Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, October 8th 2024. Crimestoppers in the Greater New Orleans area schedules the event each year, https://www.crimestoppersgno.org/night-out.
In Jefferson Parish, the North Rio Vista Neighborhood Community held a National Night Out event and OJCA members Margaret, Renee, and Robert participated, enjoyed the fellowship, and met neighbors.
Night Outs can be hyper-local events of just a single residential block or many blocks or even held in a community center. We'll be sure to pencil in the date for 2025 once its announced and have an OJCA-sponsored event or two.
